Position

In this role you will contribute to the development and industrialization of groundbreaking medical isotopes. The projects are multidisciplinary and are aimed at developing new products and optimizing operations. With your technical background, you can integrate various interests and drive process development and improvements in the right direction. You collaborate closely with internal experts to industrialize production processes, enhance efficiency and ensure operational excellence.

As a Process Engineer New Products, you will:

  • Scale up, automate, optimize, and industrialize the chemical processing and purification of reactor-irradiated isotopes into high-quality radioactive chemical products for medical use;
  • Prepare and execute protocols for equipment and process development, as well as for process validation and equipment qualification, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize manufacturing processes and support continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Support the technical implementation and commercialization of production processes with end-users;
  • Develop and establish final processes in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), including validation and registration dossiers;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as R&D, Quality, and Operations to develop and scale up processes from pilot to commercial manufacturing. Participate in technology transfer of new products and processes towards Operations;
  • Ensure the technical quality and safety of project deliverables.

Profile

You will work within the Commercial Processing Team, which is responsible for commercializing medical isotopes developed by the R&D group of the Field Lab—a consortium of NRG and its partners developing new radiopharmaceuticals for medical research.

As a Process Engineer New Products, you will contribute to making radiochemicals available for use in nuclear medicines, particularly for cancer treatment. To excel in this role, you should:

  • Possess a university-level degree in a technical field such as chemistry, (applied) physics, or chemical or process engineering;
  • Have experience with complex chemical and technical projects, as well as working across interdisciplinary teams;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of clinical and commercial developments in medical isotopes (preferred);
  • Exhibit experience in medical product development, the pharmaceutical industry, or automation of (radio)chemical processes (a plus);
  • Be driven, goal-oriented, and highly conscious of quality and safety standards.
